Girls Basketball: Lady Jays 50, Rolla 38

ROLLA, Mo. - The Jefferson City Lady Jays, ranked No. 3 in Class 5, remain unbeaten to start the season with a 50-38 road win Monday against the Rolla Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Jays held a slim 12-11 edge after the first eight minutes, but they would stretch their lead to double digits in the second half. Jefferson City built a 26-20 halftime lead and extended it to 38-26 by the end of the third quarter.

Sarah Linthacum and Kara Daly each scored 12 points to lead the Lady Jays. Greta Haarmann chipped in 11 points.

Jefferson City (2-0) plays its home opener today against Kickapoo. The varsity game starts at 5:30 p.m. and will be followed by the JV game.

In Monday's other games, the Lady Jays won the freshman game 41-27, while Rolla won the JV game 29-27 in overtime.
