Boys Basketball: Jamestown 65, St. Elizabeth 53

JAMESTOWN, Mo. - In a battle between two state-ranked Class 1 district foes, the eighth-ranked Jamestown Eagles emerged Tuesday with a 65-53 win against the No. 10 St. Elizabeth Hornets.

St. Elizabeth held the early edge, leading 24-18 after one quarter and 31-27 at halftime. The Eagles turned the tide of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Hornets 21-4 in those eight minutes to take a 48-35 lead.

Trenton Barbour and Austin Flippin each led Jamestown with 16 points. Garrett Wolfe and Cole Theissen chipped in with 12 points each.

Mason Kemna had a game-high 17 points to lead the Hornets.

Jamestown (1-0) will face Tipton next Tuesday in the first round of the Tipton Tournament. St. Elizabeth (0-2) plays Versailles next Tuesday in the first round of the Eugene Tournament.
