SEDALIA, Mo. - The Jefferson City Lady Jays advanced to the Class 4 District 9 Soccer Tournament with a 1-0 win Tuesday night against the Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers.
Karina Esquivel tallied the lone goal of the game midway through the second half, assisted by Sasha Campbell.
Megan Duffield was in goal for the Lady Jays.
Second-seeded Jefferson City (9-9-2) will face top-seeded Rock Bridge (15-3) for the title at 6 p.m. Thursday. Rock Bridge blanked Waynesville 4-0 in Tuesday's first semifinal.
The District 9 winner will host the District 10 champion in the sectionals Tuesday, May 23.
