Russellville baseball advances to district title game

HARRISBURG, Mo. - The Russellville Indians will play for a district title after defeating Calvary Lutheran 12-2 in five innings Monday in the Class 2 District 7 semifinals.

Nick Thompson pitched all five innings for Russellville to earn the win, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with a strikeout. Thompson also had two hits at the plate.

Mason Stewart and Trenton Morrow each drove in three runs. Stewart recorded three hits while Morrow had two. Austin Roe and Tyler Voss each had a pair of hits. Roe drove in two runs with Voss adding an RBI.

Colin Bernskoetter was the losing pitcher. He went 1-for-3 at the plate for the Lions.

Jordan Duenkel went 2-for-3 with and RBI, while Shay Crisp had an RBI double.

Calvary Lutheran ends its season with an 8-11 record.

Russellville (13-9) will face Harrisburg at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the championship game. Harrisburg beat New Bloomfield 10-5 in the other semifinal.
