Boys district golf starts postseason today

The postseason for high school spring sports begins today as area boys golf teams get set to play in district tournaments.

The Jefferson City Jays are scheduled to travel to Fort Leonard Wood to take part in the Class 4 District Tournament at Piney Valley.

The Jays are one of 10 schools in the event.

The Helias Crusaders are in Class 3 District 5, scheduled to be played at Eldon Country Club. Also among the 10 district schools are Eldon, School of the Osage and Southern Boone.

The Blair Oaks Falcons will play in the Class 2 District 4 Tournament at Rolling Rock Country Club in Versailles.

Other area schools in the district are California and Versailles.

The Fatima Comets and South Callaway Bulldogs are in Class 2 District 5, scheduled for Bear Creek Golf Club in Wentzville.

Five area schools - Eugene, Linn, New Bloomfield, Russellville and Tipton - are scheduled to play in the Class 1 District 4 Tournament, also at Rolling Rock in Versailles.

Teams will advance to next week's sectional before the state tournaments at four sites May 15-16.
