Boys Golf: California wins Invitational

EUGENE, Mo. - The California Pintos posted the lowest score of 12 teams Wednesday in the Russellville Invitational, shooting a 323 to take the team title at Redfield Golf Course.

Fatima finished second with a 362, followed by Stover at 366 and Tipton at 368. South Callaway finished fifth with a 396.

California also boasted the top individual performance, as Jordan Geiser won the individual title with a 2-over 74.

The Pintos claimed four of the tournament's top-10 performances. Dylan Kramel was seventh with an 81, while Matt Hurt took eighth with an 83. Liam Schatzer placed 10th with an 85.

Fatima's Austin Eisterhold tied for third with a 79. Kyle Husdspeth shot an 87, Cole Lehmen finished with a 93, Josh Smith shot a 103 and Louie Bonnot carded a 106 for the Comets.

Tipton's Tristan Bolin finished second with a 75 and Brock Bookout placed sixth with an 80. Bryant Carpenter shot a 106 for the Cardinals, while Rachel Newkirk had a 107 and Drew Jurgensmeyer shot a 123.

South Callaway also had a pair of top-10 medalists, led by Braeden Sconce with a 79 to tie for third place. Blake Parker finished ninth with an 84, Keith Powers shot a 109, Devin Weber carded a 124 and Lindsey Powers had a 128.

Linn finished sixth with a team score of 401. The Wildcats were led by Kole Peters with a 92 and Ethan Russell with a 96. Ryan Grellner shot a 104, Jimmy McCuskey finished with a 109 and Ben Voss carded a 120.

New Bloomfield was eighth with a 412. Gannon Withers tied for third with a 79 and Hadley Keith had a 93. Krishtan Strobel shot a 115 and Ryan Vandergrift and Matt Moon shot a 125 and 142, respectively.

Eugene took ninth with a 435, led by Cameron Lauf with a 100 and Austin Evers with a 101. Ryan Bax had a 116, Zach Burks shot a 118 and Nathan Forck followed with a 119.

Russellville placed 11th with a 476. Austin Garrison led the Indians with a 105 and David Shelden shot a 118. Logan Morris finished with a 125, Joseph Schroer had a 128 and Trenton Harms carded a 144.
