FESTUS, Mo. - The Jefferson City track and field teams combined for 12 individual top-3 finishes Saturday, leading to both winning a team title at the Festus Early Bird.
The Jays finished with 112 points, with Lafayette: Wildwood taking second with 103.33 points. Festus was a distant third with 77.33 points. Fatima placed 17th with 10 points.
Garrett Parker picked up a win in the 100-meter dash in 11.34 seconds.
Devin Roberson was also a winner for the Jays, topping the field in the discus with a toss of 144 feet, 7 inches.
The Jefferson City boys also placed first in the 4x100- and 4x200-meter relays.
Jefferson City and Lafayette: Wildwood also finished 1-2 on the girls side, with the Lady Jays totaling 103 points to win by four. Francis Howell was third with 78.5. Fatima ended up 12th with 30 points.
Jessica Rhoads won the shot put with a throw of 40-9 for the Lady Jays.
Brianna Haller of Fatima won the 3,200-meter run in 11:31.12, nearly 15 second better than her time in last year's Class 3 championships.
