The Jefferson City Post 5 Juniors held on for an 11-9 win in Game 1 before running away for a 10-0 victory in Game 2 to complete a doubleheader sweep of Fulton on Saturday at the American Legion Post 5 Complex.
Post 5 scored five runs in the second inning of the first game to lead 5-2. Three runs in the third, two in the fourth and one in the sixth kept Post 5 in the lead the rest of the way.
Parker Bax and Braden Hickey each drove in two runs for Jefferson City. Josef Kielholz struck out seven in four innings for Post 5. Drew Voss struck out three in three innings.
Jefferson City scored four runs in the second and seventh innings in the second game. The other two runs came in the third.
Wyatt Luebbert led Post 5 with three hits and three RBI. Dakota Kemna added two RBI. Gage Bax got the win by pitching five innings, striking out three. Parker Bax struck out four in two innings of work.
