Lady Jays hold on to top ranking in Class 5

A handful of area teams make appearances in the latest edition of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association's high-school basketball rankings released Thursday

The Jefferson City Lady Jays remain atop the Class 5 girls rankings. The poll was for games through last Sunday and did not take into account Jefferson City's loss Monday night to Lebanon.

Other area girls teams in the rankings include School of the Osage at No. 9 in Class 4 and California at No. 10 in Class 3.

The Class 3 District 9 Tournament to be played in Wardsville is well represented in the rankings with No. 2 St. James, No. 3 Father Tolton and No. 4 Southern Boone.

On the boys side, the Helias Crusaders are No. 4 in Class 4 while Southern Boone climbed to the No. 1 spot in Class 3.
