ST. JAMES - The Blair Oaks Falcons used a third-quarter surge to beat the Salem Tigers 70-56 in the first round of the St. James Tournament on Tuesday.
The Eagles led 13-12 after the first quarter and 28-24 at halftime, but Blair Oaks scored 26 third-quarter points to take a 50-48 lead into the final frame.
Jason Rackers and Tim Fick each had 19 points for Blair Oaks while Dylan Skinner had 11.
Second-seeded Blair Oaks (12-2) plays third-seeded Sullivan at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the semifinals.
