ST. ELIZABETH - The New Bloomfield Lady Wildcats started both halves in strong fashion Thursday night to beat the St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets 47-27 in Show-Me Conference play.
New Bloomfield led 19-12 after one quarter and 26-18 at the half. The Lady Wildcats then outscored the Lady Hornets 16-4 in the third quarter to build a 42-22 lead.
Madi Craighead led New Bloomfield with 23 points.
Brooke Struemph topped St. Elizabeth with 17 points and eight rebounds. Kayla Struemph also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
New Bloomfield (19-6, 6-2 Show-Me), the No. 1 seed in the Class 2 District 8 Tournament, will play Fayette at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Sturgeon. St. Elizabeth (14-10, 4-4 Show-Me) plays today at Calvary Lutheran.
New Bloomfield also won the two-quarter JV game 22-18.
