CAMDENTON, Mo. - The Helias Crusaders advanced four wrestlers Friday to the semifinals of the Class 3 District 3 Tournament.
Evan Winder at 106 pounds, Randy Salaz at 120, Jackson Careaga at 132 and Nick Gaines at 145 are are undefeated after the opening day of the event.
Winder, Salaz and Careaga are all 2-0, while Gaines is 1-0 with a bye. The four can advance to next week's state tournament at Mizzou Arena with a semifinal victory today.
Seven other Crusaders - Zack Carr at 126, Dustin Luebbert at 138, Garrett Schnieders at 152, Colden Imhoff at 160, Noah Wieberg at 182, Zane Pezley at 195 and Cole Czarnecki at 285 - remain alive in the wrestlebacks.
Helias is sixth in the team standings with 41.5 points. Neosho at 83, Carthage at 59.5 and Willard at 59 lead the 15-team field.
The tournament will conclude today.
