Prep Wrestling: Helias finishes sixth at Kinloch Classic

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Helias wrestling finished sixth out of 25 teams at the Kinloch Classic.

Seven Crusaders medaled: Zack Carr second at 138 pounds, Evan Winder (120) and Jackson Careaga (152) third, Randy Salaz fourth at 132, Gavin Adams (106) and Aleksey Salaz (113) fifth, and Nick Schnieders sixth at 126.

Rolla won the team title with 364 points, Ozark was runner-up with 357.5 points and Ray-Pec finished third with 349 points.

Carr made it to the championship match with a 7-2 decision against Thomas Henderson of St. James in the quarterfinals and a win by fall at 3:12 against Zach Brown of Ray-Pec in the semifinals.

Ethan Smith of Buffalo defeated Carr by a 6-4 decision to win the title.

Winder edged Dalton Thompson of St. Clair with a 1-0 decision, while Careaga got a 2-1 decision against Kenyen Kieber of Parkview in third-place matches.

Helias is back in action Tuesday against Camdenton and Rock Bridge in Columbia.
