HIGBEE, Mo. - The Calvary Lutheran Lady Lions opened CCAA conference play with a 64-48 win Friday against the state-ranked Higbee Lady Tigers.
Calvary Lutheran was ahead 15-14 after one quarter and 27-26 at halftime. The Lady Lions then stretched their lead in the second half, pulling away to a 45-39 advantage through three quarters against Higbee, which is ranked No. 10 in Class 1.
Four players scored in double figures for the Lady Lions, and two finished with double-doubles.
Haley Braun led the team with 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Katy Allen finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Abbie Klatt added 14 points and Emma Homfeldt chipped in 12 points.
Calvary Lutheran (3-3) hosts Chamois on Dec. 28.
