Boys Basketball: Eugene 73, St. Elizabeth 52

ST. ELIZABETH, Mo. - The St. Elizabeth Hornets had their four-game win streak snapped Friday with a 73-52 loss to the Eugene Eagles in Show-Me Conference play.

Eugene, ranked No. 6 in Class 2, held a slim 10-8 lead after one quarter, but it would quickly grow to double digits. The Eagles led 30-19 at halftime and 56-29 through three quarters.

Ross Struemph led the Hornets with 23 points. Dakota Kemna added nine points.

St. Elizabeth (5-4) plays Monday at Tuscumbia. The Lions (3-7) suffered a 49-48 defeat against Prairie Home on Friday for their third straight loss.
