Boys Basketball: Blair Oaks 50, Hickman 46

COLUMBIA - Blair Oaks shut down Hickman in the third quarter and made late free throws to hold on for a 50-46 win Friday night.

The Falcons were down 15-8 after the first quarter and 29-22 at halftime, but outscored the Kewpies 16-4 in the third quarter to lead 38-33.

Hickman battled back and got to within one in the final minute.

Trent Martin made a pair of free throws to make it 49-46 late and Hickman missed a 3-pointer at the other end. Dru Rackers grabbed the rebound and made 1-of-2 free throws to seal the victory.

Rackers led the Falcons with 18 points. Tim Fick and Martin scored 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Blair Oaks (5-2) plays Tuesday at Dixon.

The Blair Oaks JV improved to 6-0 with a 43-27 win against Hickman.

Cameron Hardwick led Blair Oaks with 15 points.

The JV team will face Hallsville at 11:30 a.m. today in the championship game of the Blair Oaks JV Tournament.
