Helias girls roll to tournament victory

SULLIVAN, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders rolled to a 65-25 victory Monday against Cuba in the opening round of the Sullivan Tournament.

The Lady Crusaders led 20-5 after one quarter and extended their advantage to 45-14 at the half. Helias took a 60-20 lead into the fourth quarter.

Lauren Alexander tossed in a game-high 19 points for the Lady Crusaders, hitting 5-of-7 3-pointers. Ellie Rockers finished with a double-double for Helias, totaling 10 points to go with 13 rebounds.

Erin Wyrick added nine points and nine rebounds in the win.

Helias (2-4) will take on Rock Bridge (5-1), ranked No. 4 in Class 5, in the tournament semifinals at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Rock Bridge defeated Salem 75-29 in its first-round game Monday.
