Prep Track: Jays, Lady Jays shine at Hickman Relays

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Jefferson City boys track and field team won seven events while the girls earned five victories Wednesday in the Hickman Relays.

Hickman and Battle competed in the event along with Jefferson City.

Mason York won the javelin with a throw of 132 feet, five inches. He was also runner-up in the pole vault at 13-6.

Thrower Devin Roberson placed first in the discus with a toss of 140-5 and second in the shot put at 45-10. Corey Suttle took top honors in the shot put with a throw of 48.

Ryan Brooks was a winner in the 300-meter hurdles in 41.95 seconds. He was second in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.21 seconds.

Addison Brown cleared 6-6 in the high jump to win. In the triple jump, he took third with a leap of 42-3.75.

The boys also won the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay and the 4x400-meter relay. 

The girls were first in the 4x100 and 1,600 sprint medley relays.

Jessica Rhoads was a winner in the shot put with a throw of 39-2.75. She also finished second in the javelin at 101-11.

In the pole vault, Rachel Holt took the top spot by clearing 11-6. Carlee Brehe won the discus with a toss of 112-1.

Jefferson City's next event is Friday and Saturday in the Midwest Team Challenge in Paducah, Ky.
