Prep Track: Blair Oaks boys win Fatima Invitational

WESTPHALIA, Mo. - The Blair Oaks Falcons won three relays Tuesday on their way to a win in the Fatima Invitational.

Blair Oaks finished with 105 points, five ahead of runner-up Fatima.

The Blair Oaks girls finished runner-up to Fatima with 126 points. The Lady Comets tallied 148 points.

The Blair Oaks boys won the 4x200-, 4x400- and 4x800-meter relays.

Dalton Bridges, Chase Niekamp, Marcus Edler and Paul Karsten ran the 4x200 in 1:36.95 in the victory. Karsten, Ben Forck, Edler and Cole Brenneke recorded a time of 3:42 in the 4x400. In the 4x800, Forck, Adam McCauley, Justin Cobb and Brenneke won with a time of 9:03.

Edler also picked up an individual win in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.02 seconds.

Karsten, Brenneke and Forck each had a second-place finish.

Karsten's time of 24 seconds was good for second in the 200-meter dash. Bridges finished a tick behind at 24.01 for third. Bridges also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash in 11.94 seconds.

Brenneke ran the 800-meter run in 2:05, while Forck had a time of 4:51 in the 1,600-meter run.

Chase Forck picked up a pair of third-place finishes for Blair Oaks. He leaped 37 feet, 11.75 inches in the triple jump and 18 feet in the long jump.

Kaleb Cox came in third in the shot put at 41-3.

The Blair Oaks girls collected three relay wins and two individual victories.

Sarah Ferrell, Olivia Seig, Jessie Holstein and Lauren Roark won the 4x100 in 53 seconds. Ferrell, Seig, Holstein and Kayla Jones finished the 4x200 in 1:54.33 for the top spot. The 4x800 team of Taylor Scott, Jones, Rachel Isenberg and Emily Yaeger were first in 10:21.85.

Cassie Twehus won the shot put with a toss of 36-5, while Lauren Roark placed first in the high jump at 4-8. Cassidy Prenger finished fifth at 31-5.

Scott and Chloe Cox were second (1:05.39) and third (1:08.25) in the 400-meter dash.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Rebecca Schroeder was runner-up in 18.72 seconds with Alexa Stegemann third in 18.78 seconds.

Peyton Kusgen was fifth in the 300-meter hurdles in 56.66 seconds, while Emily Yaeger placed fourth in the 1,600 in 5:53.85.

Blair Oaks will next compete May 4 in the Tri-County Conference meet at Eldon.
