Swehla hurls no-hitter for Blair Oaks

HALLSVILLE, Mo. - Tyler Swehla was the starting pitcher in Blair Oaks' first no-hitter of the season earlier this month against Blue Springs, but the left-hander wasn't able to finish the game on the mound.

On Monday, Swehla went the distance, pitching a no-hitter in the Falcons' 3-1 win against the Hallsville Indians in Tri-County Conference play.

Swehla threw 92 pitches in seven innings, allowing four walks and hitting one batter while striking out seven. Hallsville scored its run in the bottom of the fourth on a passed ball to take a 1-0 lead.

Blair Oaks tied the game in the fifth when Swehla scored from third on a passed ball. The Falcons took the lead with two more runs in the sixth on a two-run single by Ethan Rackers.

Ryan Paschal had a double for Blair Oaks and Swehla and Kameron Morriss each had one single.

Blair Oaks (11-6, 3-0 Tri-County) plays Helias at 5 p.m. today at the American Legion Post 5 Sports Complex.

Blair Oaks won the JV game 13-3 to improve to 5-3.

Colton Hoelscher had one single, one double and two RBI, while Gavin Bernskoetter and Hunter Herigon each had two RBI. Seth DeWesplore was the winning pitcher, striking out two batters in three innings.
