BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - The Jefferson City boys and girls track teams each took third place in the team standings Friday at the Rusty Hodge Invitational hosted by Blue Springs South.
The Jays scored 69.5 points, trailing only Blue Springs with 146 points and Lee's Summit North with 98. Lee's Summit was fourth with 60 points and St. Joseph Central took fifth with 47.
The Lady Jays posted 72.5 points, while Blue Springs took home the title with 110 points and Liberty finished second with 77. Fort Osage was fourth with 60 points and Park Hill took fifth with 58.5.
The Jays won two events at the Invitational. They finished first in the 4x800-meter relay and Jackson Schwartz took home the title in the 3,200-meter run.
Jessica Rhoads was the lone champion for the Lady Jays at the meet, finishing first in the shot put.
