Lady Jays sixth, Helias 10th in Capital City Invitational golf

The Jefferson City Lady Jays were sixth while the Helias Lady Crusaders finished 10th Monday at the Lady Jays Capital City Invitational at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.

The Lady Jays totaled a 366 in the 15-team event, while Helias came in with a 382.

Valerie Hurt of Jefferson City tied for ninth with an 83. Lily Tharp of the Lady Jays tied for 25th with a 93, while Shelby Clark shot a 94 to tie for 31st. Maggie Noble of Jefferson City was 39th with a 96, while teammate Sami Swinfard was 40th with a 97.

Alex Nelson paced Helias, tying for 23rd with a 92. Mia Millard of the Lady Crusaders tied for 25th with a 93, while Reese Hamilton tied or 36th with a 95. Skylar Nelson tied for 46th with a 102, while Natalie Beck was 73rd with a 132.

Two other area teams posted scores. Southern Boone was 14th at 460, while Eldon was 15th at 517.

Olivia Imler shot a 106 to finish 53rd to lead Southern Boone. Hattie Grisham ha a 123 to lead Eldon, finishing 69th.

Madison Ratcliff tied for 58th with a 110 for California, which did not field a team.

St. Joseph's Academy claimed team honors with a 316, 15 strokes better than runner-up Pembroke Hill. Rock Bridge was third at 336.

India Gaume of Pembroke Hill earned medalist honors with a 72. Taylor Black of Warrensburg was second with a 75, while Grace Armonando of St. Joseph's was third with a 76.
