Calvary Lutheran softball drops close game against Montgomery County

The Calvary Lutheran Lady Lions outhit the Montgomery County Lady Wildcats on Monday, but the Lady Lions fell short in a 5-4 defeat.

Calvary had nine hits and was led by Emma Homfeldt, who went 3-for-4 and scored two runs. Amanda Braun, Haley Braun and Isabelle Brenneke each had one hit and one RBI.

Sydney Duenckel had a double for the Lady Lions. Presley Welch and Lily McCarty also each had one hit.

Haley Braun took the loss, striking out five batters in five innings. She also walked one and gave up all five runs.

Calvary (3-3) will play Thursday at Russellville.

In the JV game, Calvary and Montgomery County played to a 5-all tie in three innings. Duenckel went 2-for-2 and scored two runs and Andrea Stanford and Taryn Pritchett each had an RBI single.
