Prep Soccer: Jefferson City loses to Rockhurst

KANSAS CITY - The Jefferson City Jays dropped a 2-0 decision Wednesday to the Rockhurst Hawklets.

The Hawklets got on the board late in the first half on a corner kick. Rockhurst then added to its lead with a goal in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Rockhurst is ranked No. 1 in Missouri and as high as No. 15 in the country in some polls.

Jefferson City (16-6-1) will host the Class 4 District 11 Tournament starting Monday at Eddie Horn Field. 

The Jays are the No. 1 seed in the four-team tournament and will face fourth-seeded Sedalia Smith-Cotton at 5 p.m.
