EUGENE - The Fatima Lady Comets won the Class 2 District 8 tournament Tuesday, defeating the Steelville Lady Cardinals 25-11, 25-23 in the championship match.
Megan Werdehausen had 10 kills and four blocks to lead the Lady Comets. Courtney Wolfe finished with five digs and four aces, while Emma Markway tallied nine assists.
In Tuesday's semifinal round of the district tournament, Fatima defeated the Eugene Lady Eagles in straight sets 25-15, 25-13.
Werdehausen finished with five kills and five aces, Wolfe had 13 assists and Kylie Eichholz added five digs. Halie Moeller and Makayla Grothoff each had one block.
Fatima (19-12-3) will face the winner of the District 5 tournament - Trinity Catholic or Crossroads College Prep - Saturday at Hermann in the Class 2 sectional round.
