Schwartz, Jays win Camdenton cross country titles

CAMDENTON, Mo. - Jackson Schwartz of Jefferson City captured individual honors while the Jays took the team title Saturday at the Camdenton Cross Country Invitational.

Schwartz finished in 15:42 to take the top spot among the 116 runners in the race.

Jefferson City finished with 36 points to top 11 teams in the event.

Thomas Nield was sixth for the Jays, while Cole Biesemeyer was ninth. Brendan Bena finished 11th, while Ben Krause was 15th, Izaak Sochinski was 34th and Jeff Dodson was 40th.

On the girls side, the Lady Jays finished second with 74 points. Branson was first with 36 points among seven teams.

Kayelee Payton was fourth in 19:19 to lead the Lady Jays. Laura Sherwood was fifth, while Bri Bechtel finished 21st. Alivia Bopp was 28th, while Mira Gandhi was 43rd and Syleste Martinez was 49th.
