CARTHAGE - After scoring two runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 5-3 lead against Webb City, Jefferson City was able to hold on to win 5-4 to get tournament play started.
The Lady Jays also beat Belton 4-3.
Gabi McGinty had two RBI for the Lady Jays against Webb City. Alex Gilliland had two hits and an RBI.
Mychael Jett earned the win, striking out three in seven innings.
Megan Green had three RBI against Belton.
Jett pitched all six innings, striking out five for the win.
