Blair Oaks softball splits at Carthage

CARTHAGE - The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons split their first two games in the Carthage Tournament, beating Carl Junction 8-0, then losing to Kearney 3-0.

In the first game, Hannah Schroeder had three hits, a double and an RBI, Sydney Wilde had two hits and a double, Makenna Kliethermes had two hits and three RBI, and Emilee Jones, Carli Buschjost and Megan Mitchem each had an RBI.

Megan Mitchem got the win, pitching four innings giving up a hit and a walk with six strikeouts.

Against Kearney, Mackinnley Hamacher had the lone hit for the Lady Eagles.

Kliethermes took the loss, pitching 51/3 innings with three runs given up on five hits, two walks and seven strikeouts.

Blair Oaks (16-6) plays Ozark today.
