Holiday Hoops Invitational: Blue Springs South downs Quincy

It took Blue Springs South less than a quarter to score all the points the Lady Jaguars would need to win their opening-round game at the State Farm Holiday Hoops Invitational.

Blue Springs South raced out to a 27-2 lead after a little more than five minutes, propelling it to a 70-26 win against Quincy (Ill.) at Rackers Fieldhouse.

The Lady Jaguars settled for a 34-9 edge after one quarter and with roughly two minutes left in the first half, two Blue Springs South players had outscored Quincy by themselves.

Four different Lady Jaguars scored in double figures, led by 17 points from Zoie Reynolds. Tiffany Davenport was close behind with 16 points, while Naia Tauai added 14 and Kaylee Conners chipped in with 12.

Miayla Robbins led Quincy with seven points.

Blue Springs South will take on Jefferson City at 5:30 p.m. today in a winner's bracket semifinal, while Quincy will face Eureka at 2:30 p.m. in a loser's bracket contest.
