Boys Basketball: Jays suffer first loss of season

WENTZVILLE - The Jefferson City Jays had a chance to win Tuesday night's game at Timberland in the final seconds, but their shot was off target as the Wolves held on to win 62-61.

The Jays trailed for much of the game, but made a run to tie the game at 59 with less than three minutes remaining.

Timberland led 13-12 after the first quarter, 36-30 at halftime and 51-43 after three quarters.

Kamari Balton led the Jays with 15 points. Chuck Cooper scored 14.

Jefferson City (3-1) plays next Tuesday at Hickman.
