Russellville softball loses to Jamestown

JAMESTOWN - The Russellville Lady Indians scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning, rallying to beat Jamestown 11-6 on Monday in their season opener.

McKendra Fischer went 4-for-5 at the plate, finishing with two singles, one double, one triple and four RBI. Fischer had a bases-clearing triple in the top of the seventh for the Lady Indians.

Erica Schweer and Hannah Mueller each had two hits for Russellville.

Hannah Malzner was the winning pitcher, striking out seven batters.

Russellville (1-0) plays its home opener today against Harrisburg. Jamestown (0-1) hosts Linn today.

Rock Bridge 8, Fatima 0

WESTPHALIA - The Fatima Lady Comets lost their home opener 8-0 against Rock Bridge on Monday.

Ally Bonnot, Gina Stegeman, Raegan Huhn and Katelyn Plassmeyer had one single each for the Lady Comets. Macy Berhorst was the losing pitcher, allowing 11 hits and finishing with three strikeouts.

Fatima (0-2) hosts Southern Boone today.
