College Football: Barr scores three TDs

KIRKSVILLE - Truman State redshirt senior quarterback Jaden Barr had two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown Saturday, leading the Bulldogs to a 35-12 win against Wayne State.

Barr (California High School) completed 13-of-26 passes for 154 yards. He threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Spencer Newell midway through the second quarter and then completed a 26-yard touchdown pass, also to Newell, three minutes later to extend the lead to 24-0.

Barr added a 4-yard rushing score early in the third quarter to make the score 35-0.

This season, Barr is 25-of-44 passing for 239 yards. He is also third on the team in rushing with 26 carries for 62 yards.

Truman State (2-0), which received votes this week in the AFCA Division II top 25 rankings, hosts Valparaiso on Saturday.
