College Baseball: Area trio named All-MCCAC

Jefferson College's Jason Rackers and Grant Wood and State Fair Community College's Logan Bexten were named all-conference earlier this month by the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference.

Rackers (Blair Oaks High School) was one of 15 players honored on the first team, while Wood (Jefferson City High School) and Bexten (Fatima High School) were two of 16 players named to the second team.

Rackers, a sophomore pitcher who has committed to play for Tennessee next season, finished the season with an 8-3 record and two complete games. He threw a team-best 65 innings and led the team with 82 strikeouts while posting a 3.97 ERA.

Wood, a sophomore infielder who has committed to play for Missouri State next season, led all of NJCAA with 61 walks in 2019, which helped bump his on-base percentage to .502. He posted a .307 batting average (54-for-176) with a team-high 66 runs scored and 49 RBI with four home runs and 20 stolen bases.

Bexten, a sophomore pitcher, compiled a 5-5 record for the Roadrunners. He pitched a team-high 64 innings, struck out 46 batters and finished with a 3.38 ERA.

Jefferson College ended the season with a 47-10 record, while State Fair lost to Crowder College in the Region 16 championship game and finished 35-21.
