College Softball: Love hits 12th home run

KANSAS CITY - State Fair Community College sophomore Madison Love hit a solo home run last Friday in the Roadrunners' 6-3 loss to North Central Missouri College in the NJCAA Region 16 Tournament.

Love (New Bloomfield High School) also pitched in the game, striking out six batters in seven innings.

For the season, Love batted .357 (55-for-154) with 12 home runs, 49 RBI and 36 runs scored. In the pitcher's circle, she posted a 16-12 record with a 2.48 ERA in 172 innings. She struck out 257 batters - which ranks third in NJCAA Division I - with just 58 walks.

State Fair finished the season with a 26-24 record.
