Brandt named NAIA All-American for third time

COLUMBIA - Columbia College senior guard Morgan Brandt was named to the NAIA All-America third team, the Cougars announced Thursday.

Brandt (Fatima High School) finishes her career as a three-time All-American. She was an honorable mention as a sophomore and made the second team as a junior.

Brandt becomes just the third three-time All-American in Columbia College program history, joining Rachel Oswald (2007-10) and Heather English (2010-14).

Brandt was one of 10 players across the country named to the NAIA All-America third team. Ten players each were named to the first and second teams as well, and 47 were recognized as honorable mentions.

For the Cougars, junior Jordan Alford was named to the first team, while junior Raegan Wieser was an honorable mention.

Brandt finishes her four-year career at Columbia College with 1,408 points and 1,002 rebounds, the only player in school history - men's or women's basketball - to surpass 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career.

On the Cougars' all-time list, Brandt ranks No. 1 in career rebounds and No. 6 in career scoring. She is also No. 8 in career assists (248) and No. 7 in career steals (229).

During the 2018-19 season, Brandt led the Cougars in scoring with 12.5 points per game.

Columbia College finished with a 29-5 record and the No. 3 ranking in the NAIA prior to the national tournament.
