TRENTON, Mo. - Jefferson College sophomore pitcher Jason Rackers struck out six batters in five innings last Friday, leading the Vikings to a 14-1 win against North Central Missouri College.
Rackers (Blair Oaks High School) scattered three hits in the complete-game win, facing just 17 batters.
Sophomore second baseman Grant Wood (Jefferson City High School) went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Vikings.
In four games this season, Rackers has a 2-2 record with a 4.29 ERA. He has struck out 22 batters in 21 innings pitched.
Wood has played in 17 games this season, compiling a .258 batting average (16-for-62) while hitting safely in his last six games. He has scored 22 runs, driven in 13 and has five doubles to go with two home runs.
Jefferson College (11-6) hosts Metropolitan Community College today.
