Women's Basketball: Rhine leads Bulldogs in win

DES MOINES, Iowa - Drake redshirt junior forward Sara Rhine scored a game-high 21 points Sunday, leading the Bulldogs to an 84-53 win against Valparaiso in Missouri Valley Conference play.

Rhine (Eldon High School) shot 7-of-9 from the field, missing her only two attempts from 3-point range. She was also 7-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Rhine also finished with eight rebounds, two steals, two blocks and two assists.

Through 16 games, Rhine leads the MVC with 18.9 points per game. Through Thursday's games, according to ncaa.com, she was tied for 38th in NCAA Division I with 19.0 pointer per game.

Rhine is also third in the conference with 8.6 rebounds per contest and also leads the league in field-goal percentage at 59.2, shooting
116-of-196 from the field. She is also sixth in the MVC in free-throw percentage (81.0).

Drake (12-4, 4-0 MVC), which received votes in last week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, plays Friday at Northern Iowa.
