BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Southern Illinois junior Alexis Roberson recorded her third win this season Friday in the women's weight throw at the Samford Bulldog Invite.
Roberson (Jefferson City High School) posted a winning throw of 66 feet, 7.25 inches, finishing less than six inches ahead of the second-place mark.
Roberson has also won the weight throw this season at the Saluki Fast Start and the John Gartland Invitational, where her personal-best throw of 69-7 ranks 17th in NCAA Division I.
Southern Illinois competes Feb. 23-24 in the Missouri Valley Conference Championships at Cedar Falls, Iowa.
