Track and Field: Fife runner-up in shot put

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Missouri redshirt senior Will Fife finished second in the men's shot put in the John McDonnell Invitational, hosted last Friday and Saturday by Arkansas.

Fife (Helias High School) posted a throw of 60 feet, 3.25 inches on his third attempt, just 8.25 inches shy of his career best. Arkansas' Sam Kempka edged Fife first first place with a throw of 60-4.5.

Fife also placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 154-3.

Missouri sophomore Jason Edwards (School of the Osage High School) finished in ninth place in the men's decathlon, posting a total score of 5620. His best event finish came in the pole vault, which he won by clearing a height of 14-9.

Tulsa freshman Jackson Schwartz (Jefferson City High School) also took second in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:35.18. He finished 7.36 seconds behind teammate Reed Sahadevan.

Southwest Baptist (St. Elizabeth High School) came in 10th place in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.09 seconds.

Missouri State freshman Emily Yaeger (Blair Oaks High School) placed 18th in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.12.
