Men's Golf: Trowbridge leads Lincoln

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Lincoln junior Gabe Trowbridge tied for 28th place out of 99 golfers in the Battle for the Belt, which was hosted by Henderson State and concluded last Tuesday.

Trowbridge (Jefferson City High School) shot a 75 in the first round, a 72 in the second round and a 71 in the third round to finish with a 218 to lead the Blue Tigers.

Lincoln finished last out of 16 schools in the team standings with a 906. Henderson State won the team title with an 849.

Brayden Watts tied for 55th for Lincoln (75-71-78-224), while junior Logan Taylor (South Callaway High School) finished 85th with a 230 (74-79-77). Jordan Barnett placed 93rd with a 236 (78-79-79) and freshman Brett Trowbridge (Jefferson City High School) tied for 94th place with a 237 (80-77-80).

The Blue Tigers posted a team score of 302 in the first round, 299 in the second and 305 in the third.

Lincoln will host the Blue Tiger Invitational, which takes place Oct. 15-16 at Jefferson City Country Club.
