Lincoln cross country finishes third at Gary Stoner Invitational

FAYETTE, Mo. - The Lincoln Blue Tigers had a third-place finish Saturday in the Gary Stoner Invitational, hosted by Central Methodist.

The Blue Tigers recorded 97 points. Maryville won the team title with 28 points, followed by runner-up Missouri Baptist with 43. Missouri Valley was fourth with 100 and Mizzou Running Club was fifth with 103.

Danielle James led Lincoln with a time of 20:59.80 in the 5K race, finishing 10th out of 45 runners.

Melissa Tyme was 18th with a time of 21:40.60, while Shanice Clarke (24:44.50) and Kamoy Fagan (24:50.60) finished 35th and 36th, respectively. Segale Brown rounded out Lincoln's team score with a 38th-place finish in 25:16.50. Tajera Lawkin was 42nd in 26:15.80.

In the men's 8K race, Central Methodist junior Elliot Knernschield (Helias High School) finished in fifth place out of 60 runners with a time of 27:37.20.

The Eagles finished with 78 points in the team standings to take third place. Maryville won the team title with 42 points, while Drury was second with 71.

Central Methodist junior Joe Bruemmer (Helias High School) also finished 25th in 29:28.40 in the men's race.
