College Track: Young, Scrivner qualify for NAIA championships

GULF SHORES, Ala. - Columbia College senior Grace Young and William Woods senior Madelyn Scrivner each qualified for the NAIA outdoor track and field championships, which will be held Thursday through Saturday at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium.

Young (Russellville High School) qualified in two events. She is seeded ninth in the women's 10,000-meter run and is the No. 14 seed in the 5,000-meter run.

Scrivner (Eldon High School) is the No. 9 seed in the women's hammer throw.

Young will run in the 10,000 final at 7:50 p.m. Thursday. The 5,000 preliminaries are at 6:10 p.m. Friday and the final is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Scrivner will compete in the first event of the meet at 10 a.m. Thursday with the hammer throw.
