COLUMBIA - Missouri junior Will Fife is one of 13 Tigers to qualify for the NCAA West Preliminary Championships, which will be held Thursday through Saturday in Sacramento, Calif.
Fife (Helias High School) will compete in the men's shot put. He is the No. 16 seed out of 48 qualifiers in the event, having posted a throw of 60 feet, 11.5 inches earlier this season.
Fife will throw in the third of four flights in the shot put at 6:30 p.m. CST Saturday. The top 12 finishers in the event will advance to the NCAA Championships, which take place June 6-9 in Eugene, Ore.
