College Softball: SFCC's Love receives postseason honors

SEDALIA - State Fair Community College freshman Madison Love was selected to the NJCAA All-Region 16 team May 15.

On Tuesday, Love was also tabbed on the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference's all-conference team.

Love (New Bloomfield High School) was dominant in both the pitcher's circle and the batter's box this season for the Roadrunners.

In the circle, Love posted an 8-11 record, throwing 182 innings with 21 complete games in 34 appearances. She finished the season with a 4.37 ERA with 68 walks and 188 strikeouts, ranking 18th in NJCAA in that category.

At the plate, she was second on the team with a .376 batting average (59-for-157) with four home run, 36 RBI and 25 runs scored. She also had a team-best 14 doubles.

State Fair, in just its second season of the program's existence, ended 2018 with an 18-33 record.
