ST. LOUIS - Northern Iowa sophomore Sammey Bunch was selected to the all-conference first team by the Missouri Valley Conference, the league announced last Wednesday.
Bunch (Fatima High School) was one of two shortstops honored on the All-MVC first team. She was also listed on the All-MVC defensive team, posting a .946 fielding percentage.
Bunch was second on the Panthers in hitting with a .341 batting average (60-for-176). She led the team with five home runs, 31 RBI and 30 runs scored, as well as a .506 slugging percentage.
Northern Iowa lost 4-3 to Southern Illinois in the MVC Tournament on Thursday, ending the season with a 26-26 record.
