Brandt named All-American in NAIA

COLUMBIA - For the second straight season, Morgan Brandt is an All-American.

The Columbia College junior guard was selected as a second-team All-American, the NAIA announced Thursday. Brandt was one of 10 players across the nation chosen on the second team.

As a sophomore, Brandt was selected as an All-American honorable mention during the 2016-17 season.

Brandt (Fatima High School) finished the season with 11.3 points per game, which ranked second for the Cougars, and led the team with 8.0 rebounds per contest.

She finished the season with seven double-doubles and helped the Cougars to a 28-6 record and an appearance in the NAIA Tournament. Columbia College also won the regular season and postseason championships in the American Midwest Conference.

Brandt needs four points to become the 13th Cougar to reach the 1,000-point milestone next season. She also needs 177 rebounds next season to become the program's all-time career leader in rebounds, currently with 713 through three seasons.

In addition to her individual milestones, if Columbia College wins 19 games next season, Brandt will become the 11th player to join the program's "Century Club" with 100 career wins.

Brandt was joined on the All-American team by fellow teammate Jordan Alford, a sophomore guard who was selected to the third team.
