Double-double for Rhine in NCAA Tourney to end season

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Drake sophomore forward Sara Rhine finished with team-highs of 21 points and 10 rebounds Friday in the Bulldogs' 89-76 loss to fourth-seeded Texas A&M in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Rhine (Eldon High School) was nearly perfect from the field, making 10-of-11 attempts for 90.9 percent, the best shooting percentage in the NCAA Tournament in Drake history. Carla Bennett previously set the record of 81.8 percent in 2001.

The double-double was Rhine's sixth this season, and the first by a Drake player in the NCAA Tournament since Bennett has 22 points and 13 rebounds in a game during the 2002 tournament.

Rhine finished the season with 500 points, averaging 15.6 per game to rank second on the team. She led the Bulldogs with 6.1 rebounds per game as well.

Drake, the No. 13 seed, finished the season with a 26-8 record. Friday's loss snapped a 21-game win streak for the Bulldogs.
