GULF SHORES, Ala. - William Woods senior Madelyn Scrivner capped her college career with an All-American finish in the women's hammer throw at the NAIA track and field national championships, which were held May 24-26.
Scrivner (Eldon High School) finished fifth in the event May 24 with a throw of 172 feet, 9 inches, less than a foot shy of her personal best. It's the second straight All-American finish for Scrivner in the hammer throw, placing seventh at the 2017 national championships.
Columbia College senior Grace Young also ended her career with an All-American finish.
Young (Russellville High School) came in sixth place in the women's 5,000-meter run May 26, finishing with a time of 17:52.41. It's the first All-American honor of Young's career.
In the 10,000-meter run May 24, Young finished 13th with a time of 39:24.43.
