Men's Basketball: Brandt leads Blue Jays

FULTON - Westminster freshman forward Steven Brandt scored a career-high 21 points off the bench Saturday in the Blue Jays' 79-72 loss to MacMurray.

Brandt (Fatima High School) shot 7-of-13 from the field and knocked down four 3-pointers He also finished with a game-high 10 rebounds for a double-double.

"Steven really led the offensive charge for us tonight by hitting some key shots late in the game," Westminster coach Matt Mitchell said.

Junior guard Cody Shaw (Eugene High School) added 15 points in the loss, while junior guard Collin Caywood (Helias High School) added eight points. Sophomore forward Nolan Huot (Fatima High School) chipped in four points.

Westminster (9-6) plays Wednesday at Blackburn.
