Men's Basketball: Balton's buzzer beater lifts Pioneers to victory

HARRISON, Ark. - Kamari Balton made another game-winning shot for the North Arkansas Pioneers.

Balton made a 28-footer in front of the North Arkansas bench as time expired last Wednesday, giving the Pioneers a 100-97 win against Labette.

It was the third game-winning shot this season for Balton (Jefferson City High School), who banked in a half-court shot at the buzzer Dec. 1 for an 83-81 win at Kansas City (Kan.) Community College. He also made a 3-pointer with :06 left in a 103-102 win Nov. 28 against State Fair Community College.

Balton finished last Wednesday's game with a team-high 29 points, shooting 11-of-20 from the field and making three 3-pointers. He also finished with six assists, three rebounds and two steals.

Through 16 games, Balton leads the team with 21.1 points and 7.0 assists per game. He ranks third in NJCAA Division II in assists per game and is 15th nationally in scoring.

North Arkansas (13-3) plays Wednesday at Labette.
